Starting or Stopping Water Service
Water Utilities are provided and billed by the City of Pawnee City. To start service you'll need to complete an application packet, and pay a $100.00 deposit and $20.00 hook-up fee. You are eligible for a deposit refund after 12-months of on-time payments.
Application packets can be downloaded below and returned via email to firstname.lastname@example.org or picked up in person at the City Office at 605 G St.
Hook-up fee and deposit can be paid by mail, in person, or online. See the Payment Options page for more information. Payment and completed application must be received before service can be initiated.
Water Billing Schedule
1st of Month: Bills issued and mailed by first of each month
Due 17th each month: Unless on a holiday or weekend, then due next business day
Unpaid after due date: Reminders are issued and $10.00 late penalty assessed
Unpaid by end of month: Delinquent fee of $25.00 assessed and orange door hangers
delivered--notice of water shut off if not paid in ten days
Disconnections: A $50 reconnect fee will be assessed to reinitiate service. To avoid disconnection due to non-payment, please contact us to make payment arrangements. Payment Plans must be completed and returned to our office.

My bill is past due can I get an extension?
Please contact our office to make arrangements. Payment plans are available to residents experiencing hardships. Please note that late fees will continue to accrue until the total past-due balance is paid but making arrangements can prevent your water service from being shut off.
What do I do if I am experiencing low pressure?
Check your meter and the surrounding area for possible leaks. Next, call our office and report low pressure for your area.
Why do I have a previous balance when I know I sent in my payment?
We may have received it after the due date or we may not have received it at all. Call our office and we will help you solve the problem.
Why is my water discolored?
A repair could have been completed recently allowing air to enter the line, causing the milky look.
